Created a line from scratch which is uncommon, JUNYA WATANABE Comme des Garçons conventionally produced a new form of men’s casual brand by disassembling historical means of mens wear. The collaboration of other respected brand was a necessity to support JUNYA WATANABE Comme des Garçons. After starting this brand with a great idolization toward LEVI’S, they successfully presented their design printed on LEVI denim featured at the Paris Collection. Followed was the collaboration with THE NORTH FACE, MONCLER, other sports brand and traditional English brands. JUNYA WATANABE Comme des Garçons became one of the pioneers of presenting advanced collaborated men’s wear with new visuals under double name brands. As a result, they gained many female fans, leading to the birth of woman’s wear Comme des Garçons・JUNYA WATANABE MAN PINK in 2003.
